Catherine O’Driscoll is the founder of Canine Health Concern, a non-profit animal welfare organisation that spearheads research into the causes of health and ill health in our canine friends. Catherine has been at the forefront of the natural rearing movement since its emergence in the early 90s, promoting complementary therapies and biologically appropriate food for dogs, and researching and sharing the science to reduce vaccine load and vaccine-associated disease in dogs. The aim of Canine Health Concern is to help people to raise dogs who live long and healthy lives. |
Catherine is the author of the seminal best-selling books, ‘What Vets Don’t Tell You About Vaccines’, and ‘Shock to the System’, and the award-winning film ‘In Search of the Truth About Dogs’. She is also the author of ‘The Golden Retriever Companion, a Chronicle of Joy’. Catherine has lectured on canine health throughout Europe and North America, and delivers the Foundation in Canine Healthcare course which is listed under the Kennel Club’s KCAI scheme. She has taught animal communicating and Emotional Freedom Technique to dog lovers throughout the UK, Europe and Canada. Catherine writes for Dogs Naturally magazine in North America, and Dogs Today in the UK. Her articles have featured in most of the dog titles in the UK, and in many dog journals worldwide. In 1998, a prime-time documentary featured Catherine’s work – the World in Action ‘Fatal Affection’.
In 2010 she also founded Grandma Loves The Dog, an online/mail order business, providing information, a monthly newsletter, and ethical natural products for owners and their dogs who want to achieve health without the pitfalls of conventional drugs.
As Catherine became more knowledgeable about the causes of human and animal health, the subject of stress began to feature heavily. The Animals’ Agenda is Catherine’s answer. “I wanted to find out why people are so unhappy,” she says, “and find a way to transform that happiness into peace. I discovered – through my own experience and the experiences of my fellow dog lovers – that the animals take on the pain of their humans, almost forcing us to enter onto a path of healing. Emotional Freedom Technique is a powerful healing technique for both humans and animals.”
